I\u2019ve had allergic rhinitis (hay fever) since I was three years old. Here\u2019s a method I used that stops runny noses almost instantly.<\/p>\n

First, take a look at this.<\/p>\n

This is the method that stops a runny nose quickly.<\/p>\n

What I place on both sides of my nose is an ice pack \u2014 the kind you often get with cakes or other sweets.<\/p>\n

The goal is to reduce inflammation inside the nose.<\/p>\n

When allergy symptoms are triggered by pollen, dust mites, or similar irritants, the nasal lining becomes inflamed. The body responds by producing a runny nose to calm the inflammation. Another reason for the discharge is to expel allergens (pollen, house dust, PM2.5, etc.) that were inhaled deep into the nasal passages.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve probably experienced this: no matter how much you blow your nose, it keeps dripping. It\u2019s miserable.<\/p>\n

You might find it hard to believe there\u2019s an alternative to allergy medicine that can help. I was skeptical at first too, because for years I relied on rhinitis medication just like many of you.<\/p>\n

Every year around seasonal changes I struggled with constant runny noses, but I tried this method and the frequency of nasal discharge dropped significantly.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t stop completely, but my symptoms were clearly better than the previous day.<\/p>\n

Before, my nose ran nonstop with repeated sneezing. By midday I was exhausted and spent. Tissues disappeared from the house, the skin under my nose became raw, and I felt miserable \u2014 often having to wipe away tears and nasal discharge at the same time.<\/p>\n

What you need for this method is just this:<\/p>\n

Two of the ice packs you probably have in your freezer. Prepare two of them.<\/p>\n

First, round off the corners of the ice packs. In the photo at the start I press the ice packs against both sides of my nose; if the corners are sharp they could press against the eye area. That\u2019s dangerous, so be sure to round the corners.<\/p>\n

You can easily trim the corners with household scissors.<\/p>\n

Place the modified ice packs against both sides of your nose. Because they are very cold, apply them intermittently and take breaks. Wrapping them in a handkerchief or similar cloth before applying is also recommended.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m really glad I tried this approach. There are many over-the-counter medicines that stop runny noses, but they often come with side effects. Nasal congestion, headaches, and fatigue from medication can be as unpleasant as frequently blowing your nose or repeated sneezing.<\/p>\n
