Fighting illness of childhood cancer patients story1
The hospitalization life for cancer treatment has begun.
It was the summer of the third grade of elementary school.
I have never stayed away from my parents for a long time.
Some of the patients in the hospital had a few children, but they were discharged soon after I was hospitalized. I was the only child in this hospital.
My sickroom was a private room, right next to the nurse station where the nurse was, and the wall on the side of the nurse station was a special room with glass walls.
Later, I was told, but since I am a child, it seems that I was hospitalized in this special room in consideration of the following.
・ Because it is difficult to convey physical pain to nurses
・ To be the first to notice any abnormalities such as worsening of my condition from the nurse station
・ Because you can rush from the nurse station immediately
・ To isolate from other adults and reduce the mental burden
・ For intensive care after major scheduled surgery
The above is the reason why I was admitted to the special room, but it seems that the hospitalization fee was surprisingly high.
However, at that time I couldn’t afford to worry about it at all.
